C. Sherman Johnson 30 ft Boat Splice Line Kit

The C. Sherman Johnson Up to 30 ft Boat Splice Line Kit provides the primary hardware and synthetic line needed to install an upper Dyneema lifeline on a smaller sailboat without gates. It is intended for boats up to 30 ft and packages the terminal fittings, line, and splicing supplies as one coordinated system. The kit is useful for owners converting from stainless lifeline cable or building a new lightweight synthetic setup from scratch. For boats with double lifelines, the manufacturer specifies purchasing two kits.

The package includes two LS-3600 toggle jaws with splice eyes and two LS-2900 tubular turnbuckles with splice eyes, providing terminal hardware for both ends of the lifeline run. It also includes 70 ft of gray 1/4 in (6 mm) Dyneema, which gives the installer the line material needed for the intended boat-size range. Splicing and installation instructions are included along with a fid, needle, and twine for forming the required eyes. If a gate is needed, Johnson’s separate Splice Line gate kits are designed to integrate with this system.
