C. Sherman Johnson Aft Splice Line Gate Kit

The C. Sherman Johnson Aft Splice Line Gate Kit creates a simple boarding gate at the aft end of one side of a Dyneema lifeline system. It is intended for layouts where the gate can hinge or terminate at the stern and does not need the additional intermediate fittings used in a midship arrangement. The kit works with Johnson Splice Line components so synthetic lifelines can remain continuous with purpose-built hardware at the opening. One kit covers one side of the boat.

An LS-3100 over-center gate hook with splice eye provides the release point, while an LS-3300 gate-eye-to-splice-eye fitting forms the opposite end of the gate. The package also includes 6 ft of Dyneema for the gate section. This compact parts list keeps the installation straightforward and avoids adding fittings that are not needed in an aft-gate layout. The splice-eye interfaces are shaped for synthetic line rather than conventional stainless lifeline cable.

Form the line eyes using established structural-splicing practice and make sure the gate closes without twisting the fittings.
