C. Sherman Johnson Mini Splice-Eye Gate Hook

The C. Sherman Johnson Mini Splice-Eye Gate Hook is a lightweight lifeline fitting designed for systems that use high-tech Dyneema or Spectra line in place of stainless lifeline cable. Its splice-eye end gives the line a purpose-built termination point rather than forcing a synthetic line into hardware designed only for wire. The fitting is intended to be gentle on the line while still providing the hook function needed at a lifeline gate. Dyneema line is not included, so the installer can choose the line specification required for the boat.

The manufacturer developed the Splice Line series so synthetic lifelines can interface with conventional sailboat lifeline hardware. This style is useful for offshore-racing and cruising applications where low weight and corrosion-free synthetic line are desirable.
