C. Sherman Johnson Spreader Flag Halyard Kit

The C. Sherman Johnson Spreader Flag Halyard Kit adds a dedicated small halyard for flying flags or signals from a sailboat spreader. Instead of tying a temporary line around the rig, the kit provides a block and cleat so the halyard can be raised, lowered, and secured in a controlled way. This keeps the flag line organized and gives the operator a repeatable place to belay it. The system can be fitted to a compatible spreader or shroud arrangement where the block and cleat can be mounted securely.

The kit includes 40 ft of polyester line, providing enough material for the halyard run on many common mast and spreader layouts. A block with bail redirects the line at the upper attachment point, while the supplied shroud cleat provides a convenient place to secure the working end. Because all three primary pieces are included together, the installer does not need to source a separate line, block, and cleat. The final routing can be adjusted to suit the actual spreader height and desired flag position.
