The Viega MegaPress 316 1.5-Inch FKM Coupling with Stop joins two lengths of 1-1/2 inch pipe, its internal stop setting the insertion depth for each.
Use this for new runs, where both pipe ends can be pushed in until they seat. Where a joint has to be made in a fixed run and the fitting must slide clear of the cut, the slip coupling without a stop is the alternative.
It is a press connection, made with a pressing tool rather than threading or brazing, so there is no open flame and no cutting threads in place. Suits Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless pipe.
