The Viega MegaPress 316 1-Inch FKM Slip Coupling No Stop joins 1 inch pipe and, having no internal stop, slides right onto one length before being drawn back over the joint.
That is the repair coupling. A stopped coupling halts halfway and cannot be worked over a cut in a run already fixed at both ends, where this one slides clear and returns to bridge the gap.
It is a press connection, made with a pressing tool rather than threading or brazing, so there is no open flame and no cutting threads in place. Suits Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless pipe.
