The Viega MegaPress 316 1.25-Inch FKM Slip Coupling No Stop joins 1-1/4 inch pipe, and with no internal stop it slides fully onto one length before being drawn back across the joint.
That is what makes it a repair coupling. A standard coupling stops halfway, so it cannot be worked over a cut in a run that is already fixed at both ends. This one slides clear and returns to bridge the gap once the pipe is back together.
It is a press connection, made with a pressing tool rather than threading or brazing, so there is no open flame and no cutting threads in place. Suits Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless pipe. Sealing is by FKM elements with grip rings and separator rings. Compare it with our other marine pipe fittings.
