Viega MegaPress 316 1.25-Inch FKM Coupling with Stop

The Viega MegaPress 316 1.25-Inch FKM Coupling with Stop joins two lengths of 1-1/4 in stainless pipe in a straight line. An internal stop sets how far each pipe goes in, so both ends seat at the right depth. That makes it the right choice for new runs where you can push each pipe in from the end.

MegaPress joins stainless pipe with a press tool and MegaPress jaws instead of threading, welding or brazing. There is no open flame or hot work involved, which matters in a boat's engine room or bilge. Cut the pipe square, deburr it, mark the insertion depth and press, and the joint is done in seconds. For a repair in pipe that is fixed at both ends, a slip coupling without a stop is the fitting that will slide into place.

Inside each press end, the grip ring bites into the pipe to hold it, the separator ring protects the seal, and the FKM sealing element makes the leak-tight joint. FKM handles higher temperatures and resists oils and fuels better than standard EPDM seals. The fitting works with Schedule 5 through Schedule 40 stainless steel pipe. The body is 316 stainless steel, which has molybdenum for better pitting and corrosion resistance in salt air and salt water than 304.
