The Victron SmallBMS NG manages Victron Lithium NG batteries in systems without VE.Bus inverter charger integration.
Not needing VE.Bus integration is what this is for, and it covers a large group of installations. A boat charging lithium from solar, an alternator or a standalone charger has no VE.Bus system for a BMS to talk to, and the VE.Bus BMS versions would be the wrong choice.
The Load Disconnect output controls compatible BatteryProtect units, inverters and DC loads. That is how a BMS without direct inverter integration still stops a discharge: it operates the devices that can actually interrupt the current.
Charge disconnect and pre-alarm functions work the same way, acting through connected equipment. The pre-alarm is what gives warning before anything is cut, so loads can be shed deliberately rather than the power disappearing. Explore more battery management systems.
