The Victron Lynx Smart BMS 500 manages Victron Lithium Smart batteries with a 500A contactor, as the hub of a modular Lynx installation.

The contactor doubles as a remotely controlled main system switch, which is a useful second function. That removes a separate battery switch from the installation, since the same device that protects the bank can also isolate it on command from a panel or a GX device.

As a safety device it opens if normal charging or load controls fail to shut equipment down at a protection limit. With lithium that matters more than with lead-acid, because overcharging or over-discharging a LiFePO4 cell causes permanent damage rather than a recoverable state.

It is the protection and control hub of a modular Lynx system rather than a standalone monitor. This version suits Victron Lithium Smart batteries specifically, with a separate NG version for the newer cells. Explore more battery management systems.
