Victron Orion-TR Smart 48/12 20-Amp DC-DC Charger

The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 48/12 20A is an isolated DC-DC charger converting a 48V source to 20A of 12V charging, with Bluetooth.

Forty-eight volts down to 12 serves a boat with electric propulsion or a 48V energy storage system alongside conventional 12V equipment. That is a growing arrangement as electric drives and large lithium banks appear on more boats, and the 12V side still needs supplying regardless of what drives the boat.

Multiple Orion-Tr Smart units can be connected in parallel when more output current is needed. That matters here, since 20 amps at 12V will not carry a full domestic load on a boat large enough to have a 48V system in the first place.

The isolated architecture keeps input and output chassis grounds separate, which is important where a high-voltage propulsion system is involved.
