Victron Orion-TR Smart 12/24 10-Amp DC-DC Charger

The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/24-10 is an isolated DC-DC charger converting a 12V source to 10A of 24V charging, with Bluetooth.

Stepping 12 volts up to 24 covers a boat where the engine and starting system run at 12V but the house or equipment bank is 24V. That arrangement is common where a thruster or windlass needs 24 volts, and it cannot be served by any direct connection from a 12V alternator.

Ten amps is modest, which is appropriate: a 12V alternator supplying a 24V bank is limited by what it can give up without straining. The adaptive three-stage algorithm runs bulk, absorption and float, configurable for lead-acid or lithium chemistries.

Engine-running detection stops the charger drawing down the starting battery when the engine is off. The isolated design keeps input and output grounds separate, Bluetooth gives configuration and live status through VictronConnect, and the unit can operate as a fixed-output DC power supply.
