The Victron Orion-Tr Smart 24/24-17A is an isolated DC-DC charger and power supply for 24V dual-battery systems, with Instant Readout.

Twenty-four volts in and out is not a pointless conversion. It regulates a supply that varies or drops into a proper charging profile, which a direct connection between two batteries cannot do. Smart alternators, long cable runs and any other source of voltage loss leave a service bank undercharged even when the nominal voltage matches, and this corrects for that.

Instant Readout is the feature that separates this from earlier Orion-Tr models. Key operating data appears in the VictronConnect device list without opening the product page. The adaptive three-stage process runs bulk, absorption and float, configurable for lead-acid or lithium, and can be set to fixed output as a stabilized DC power supply.
