Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12V 30A DC-DC Charger

The Victron Orion-Tr Smart is a 12V to 12V DC-DC charger rated 30A and 360W, with built-in Bluetooth.

A DC-DC charger does what a battery combiner cannot. A combiner simply ties two batteries together and lets the alternator decide, which leaves a service bank permanently undercharged on a modern smart alternator. This takes whatever the alternator delivers and applies a proper three-stage charging profile to the service battery regardless.

Engine-running detection means charging stops automatically when the engine is not turning, so the starter battery is never drawn down by the service bank. Remote on/off allows external switching, and the unit can be configured for fixed output where it is being used as a DC power supply.
