Victron Orion-TR 9A Isolated DC-DC Converter, 12-12V

The Victron Orion-TR 12/12-9A Isolated DC-DC Converter gives an adjustable 10-15V output from an 8-17V input, at 9A continuous.

Nine amps is the smallest 12V-to-12V converter, for a communications set, an instrument or a small isolated circuit. Around 110W at 25°C falling to 85W at 40°C is the real capability, and that derating is proportionally larger here than on the bigger units.

Twelve volts in and 12 out is done for isolation and regulation rather than any voltage change. It breaks a ground loop or keeps a sensitive circuit off the boat's main negative, while holding a steady output as the supply moves.
