Description

The Victron Orion-TR 24/24-17A Isolated DC-DC Converter gives an adjustable 20-30V output from a 20-35V input, at 17A continuous.

Twenty-four volts in and 24 out is done for the isolation and the regulation rather than any voltage change. It separates the source side from the load side electrically, which breaks a ground loop or keeps a sensitive 24V circuit off the boat's main negative.

The 20 to 35V input range covers a 24V system across charging and discharge, holding the output steady throughout. A 24V bank sits near 29V under charge and can fall below 24 under load, and equipment sensitive to that swing does better on a regulated feed.

Continuous output is 17A at 40°C, with around 480W at 25°C falling to 400W at 40°C. The 40°C figure is the one to plan around in an engine space, since the 25°C rating assumes conditions a machinery compartment rarely sees. Explore more DC-DC converters and power supplies.

  • 24V in, 24V out: isolation and regulation
  • Breaks a ground loop or separates a circuit
  • A 24V bank runs from under 24V to near 29V
  • Plan on the 40°C figure in an engine space
