The Victron Orion-TR 48/12-20A Isolated DC-DC Converter gives around 240W of 12V output from a 48V system, with a remote on/off input.

Twenty amps of 12V from a 48V source suits a vessel with a high-voltage bank and conventional 12V equipment. Electric propulsion and large lithium installations run at 48V while chartplotters, radios and lighting remain 12V, so a conversion of this kind is not optional on that sort of boat.

The remote on/off takes a low-power switch, relay or engine-run signal rather than the full input current. At 48V the input current is modest, but routing it through a helm switch still means running supply cable in both directions where a signal wire would do.
