Description

The Victron Centaur is a 12V 40A three-bank charger with auto-ranging 90-265V AC input, in an epoxy powder-coated aluminum case.

The construction is what this charger is bought for. An epoxy powder-coated aluminum case, a drip shield, stainless hardware and acrylic-coated circuit boards address heat, humidity, salt air and corrosion directly. Those are the conditions that kill marine electronics, and a charger built this way outlasts one specified on its data sheet alone.

It is analog controlled rather than Bluetooth equipped, so there is no app, no configuration and no firmware to maintain. For a permanent installation that gets fitted and forgotten, the absence of those is a genuine advantage rather than a shortcoming.

Auto-ranging 90 to 265V AC input holds full output across the range of shore supplies found worldwide, including the sagging voltage common at older marinas. Forty amps across three banks suits a boat with a moderate house bank alongside starting and auxiliary batteries. Explore more 3-bank battery chargers.

  • Coated aluminum case, drip shield and stainless hardware
  • Built for heat, humidity, salt air and corrosion
  • Analog controlled, with no app or firmware
  • 40A across three banks on 90-265V input
