The Ontario RAT II has a 3-inch satin D2 tool steel drop point blade, a carbon fiber handle, a thumb stud, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 4 inches.
This is the upgraded RAT II, swapping the nylon handle and AUS-8 blade of the standard model for carbon fiber and D2. Carbon fiber is woven cloth set in resin and the lightest handle material in common use, stiffer than G10 at a fraction of the weight.
D2 is a semi-stainless tool steel that holds a working edge far longer than the AUS-8 it replaces, though it needs to be dried after it gets wet. The drop point sits the tip below the spine line for control, with a long belly behind it for general slicing. Explore more Work and Utility Linerlocks.
