Description
The Ontario RAT I has a 3.5-inch black finish AUS-8 stainless blade with a partially serrated edge, an OD green nylon handle, a thumb stud, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 5 inches.
The edge is split, plain toward the tip and serrated nearer the handle, which puts the controlled section where detail cutting happens and the aggressive teeth where the hand pushes hardest on rope and webbing. The RAT I is the full-size version of Ontario's folder, where the RAT II drops to a 3-inch blade.
AUS-8 takes a keen edge easily and resists rust well, sharpening back on any stone. Nylon keeps the weight down on a 5-inch frame and grips without the aggressive checkering that wears a pocket. Explore more Work and Utility Linerlocks.
