The Ontario Heavy Duty Machete has a 22.25-inch black-coated carbon steel blade in a black plastic handle. Made in the USA.

At 22.25 inches this is among the longest machetes made, and the length is the tool. A long blade has more speed at the tip, which is what severs green growth in one pass instead of bruising it. Carbon steel is the traditional machete material for good reason. It is tough enough to take repeated impact without chipping and soft enough to bring back with a file in the field, where a harder stainless would chip and need proper equipment.
