Description
The Ontario RAT 1.5 has a 3.25-inch satin MagnaCut steel blade, a black G10 handle, an extended tang, a thumb stud, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 4.38 inches.
The 1.5 sits between the RAT I and RAT II in size, and this version puts MagnaCut in it, which is a considerable step up from the AUS-8 and D2 the line normally runs. MagnaCut is a recent American powder steel that delivers corrosion resistance, toughness and edge retention together, where most steels trade one against another.
G10 replaces the nylon used on the standard RAT folders, adding rigidity and a firmer feel at a small weight penalty. Both the extended tang and the thumb stud open the blade, so the knife works the same whichever hand reaches for it. Explore more Work and Utility Linerlocks.
