The Ontario RAT I has a 3.5-inch satin AUS-8 stainless blade, an orange nylon handle, a thumb stud, a lanyard hole and a pocket clip, closing to 5 inches.

Orange breaks the pattern in a line built on military colors. Every other RAT runs black, olive drab, coyote brown or desert tan, and this one exists for hunters and outdoor users who care more about finding a dropped knife than blending in. On a 5-inch folder that matters more than on a small one, since a knife this size is often set down rather than pocketed between jobs.
