Description
The Newmar ERC-12-35 Emergency Relay/Charger assures immediate backup power to communications equipment in the event AC power is temporarily lost to the power supply or the supply fails. It is designed for boaters who want the power supply to also act as a trickle battery charger without any additional modification.
When the ERC senses a loss of DC voltage, it employs a fast-acting S.P.D.T. relay to automatically switch the equipment's DC input over to a standby battery, allowing continued operation. When the power supply returns to service, the ERC disengages the battery and puts the supply back online, while a small portion of output current trickle-charges and maintains the battery at full voltage during normal operation. Browse more options in our power monitoring and DC-DC conversion category.
Automatic battery backup switching engages without manual intervention if the primary source fails. Trickle charge function keeps the backup battery topped off and ready.
