Description

The Newmar PT-7 Phase Three is a 12V 7A charger with two output banks and a stainless-steel enclosure.

Two output banks rather than three is what distinguishes the PT-7 from the rest of the Phase Three line. That suits a smaller starting and auxiliary arrangement. A boat with three banks needs one of the larger models, since splitting two outputs across three batteries defeats the isolation.

Seven amps is a maintenance rate rather than a recovery one, keeping batteries in condition on a vessel that sits on shore power between trips. The clean regulated output also allows it to run onboard loads directly.

A selector switch adjusts charging voltage for flooded lead-acid, AGM or gel battery types. Current limiting and thermal protection guard against overload, and the stainless-steel enclosure with polyurethane-coated internal circuitry suits workboat, commercial, military and recreational service. Explore more battery chargers.

  • Only two output banks in this model
  • Three batteries need a larger model for isolation
  • 7A maintains rather than recovers
  • Stainless enclosure with coated circuitry
