Newmar PT-25W Smart Marine Battery Charger

The Newmar PT-25W Phase Three is a 12V 25A charger with three isolated output banks, an ammeter and a stainless enclosure.

Twenty-five amps is the largest 12V Phase Three, sized for commercial and workboat use where banks are worked hard and need returning between shifts. Three isolated outputs mean a fault or a failing battery on one bank cannot affect the other two, which matters more on a vessel that has to go out again tomorrow.

Forced-air cooling is what allows the output in a compact stainless enclosure, and it is a trade against the fanless designs elsewhere. A fan moves air through the unit, which cools better but pulls in whatever the compartment contains. In a clean machinery space that is fine.

The charger can function as a clean regulated DC power supply and operate loads without a battery connected. A battery-type selector adjusts the profile for flooded lead-acid, AGM or gel, with an optional temperature sensor, current limiting, thermal protection and marinized internal circuitry.
