Maxwell RC8-6 12V 600W Vertical Windlass

The Maxwell RC8-6 is a 12V vertical windlass designed for fully automatic handling of 1/4 in chain spliced to 1/2 in three-strand or 8-plait nylon rope. Its 600W drive is rated for a maximum pull of 770 lb, with chain retrieval up to 92 ft/min and rope retrieval up to 79 ft/min. The marine-grade 316 stainless steel topworks provide long-term corrosion resistance for exposed foredeck installations.

A two-piece installation and spacer-tube design allow the windlass to fit a wide range of deck thicknesses without requiring complete disassembly. Multiple gearbox positions and a self-aligning gearbox help simplify below-deck placement. The large through-deck hawse pipe provides a clear path into the anchor locker, while the stainless pressure arm and preloaded spring maintain control over the rope-and-chain splice.

Maxwell's Wave Design chainwheel uses angled outer ribs and opposing inner ribs to guide and grip the rode more securely while being gentler on the rope. The sealed oil-bath gearbox uses a hard-anodized alloy housing, and the supplied emergency crank provides manual override.
