Maxwell HRC8 12V Horizontal Freefall Windlass

The Maxwell HRC8 is a 12V horizontal rope-and-chain windlass designed for higher-capacity anchoring while retaining a compact above-deck footprint. It is rated for a 900 lb maximum pull and works with 5/16 in short-link chain and 9/16 in nylon rope. Maxwell's enclosed pressure-arm system manages the rope-to-chain transition, while the integrated composite nylon hawse pipe guides the rode through the deck with less chance of snagging.

A 600W dual-direction motor and high-efficiency spur gearbox provide powered retrieval at up to 108 ft/min. Automatic freefall lets the anchor drop rapidly from a helm switch or footswitch and automatically returns to powered retrieval when the up control is used. The motor and drive are enclosed in a watertight, hard-anodized marine-alloy housing, and the motor is removable for routine brush service.
