The Maxwell PM Solenoid Pack is the 12V version, for permanent magnet windlass motors.

PM stands for permanent magnet, and this pack is matched to windlasses using a permanent magnet motor rather than a wound-field one. The two motor types need different solenoid arrangements, so a standard reversing pack is not a substitute even at the same voltage.

Solenoids are a wear part rather than a lifetime component, failing from contact erosion and corrosion in a damp anchor locker rather than from age. Maxwell notes this cannot be returned to the point of purchase, so any issue goes direct to the manufacturer rather than through the retailer who supplied it.
