Description

The Maxwell Reversing Solenoid Pack is the 24V version, replacing part P19046.

A reversing solenoid is a pair of heavy contactors that flip the polarity feeding the windlass motor, which is how the same motor runs up and down. It handles current a deck switch cannot, so the switch operates the solenoid and the solenoid operates the windlass.

Twenty-four volt is the version for larger boats, and it is not interchangeable with the 12V pack that replaces P19045 despite looking identical. A windlass that runs one direction but not the other almost always points at the solenoid rather than the motor, since solenoids fail from contact wear and corrosion rather than from age or hours worked. Explore more windlass controls and accessories.

  • 24V, replacing part P19046
  • Not interchangeable with the 12V P19045 pack
  • Reverses motor polarity for up and down
  • A one-direction windlass usually means the solenoid
