The Maxwell P10068 is a 12V permanent magnet replacement windlass motor for the Freedom 500, VC500, VW500 and VWC500.

A permanent magnet motor uses magnets rather than field windings to create the stator field, which makes it lighter and simpler with fewer windings to fail. It is also the correct type for these windlasses specifically. Fitting a wound-field motor in its place is not a straight swap.

Four windlass models share this motor, which covers most of the Freedom 500 family and removes the guesswork about part numbers within that range.
