Description

The Ka-Bar Kukri Machete has an 11.5-inch powder-coated 1085 carbon steel blade with a full tang, a black rubber handle and a polymer sheath. Made in Taiwan.

The kukri is a Nepalese pattern and the forward bend is the whole design. Angling the blade down ahead of the grip moves the point of impact away from the wrist, so the weight of the blade does the chopping rather than the arm driving it. That makes a kukri cut far above its length, and it is why the shape has stayed in military service for two centuries.

1085 is a high-carbon steel, tough under repeated impact and easy to sharpen in the field. Rubber over a full tang absorbs the shock that a chopping blade sends back into the hand. Explore more Machetes.
