The DeWalt MA61 D Guard Machete has a 15.25-inch black-coated sawback high carbon stainless blade at 22 inches overall in a black and yellow rubberized handle, a D-guard, and a nylon sheath.

Two things set this apart from a plain machete. The sawback spine is cut into coarse teeth for bucking seasoned limbs, and the D-guard loops from the handle back to the blade, enclosing the fingers against slips and whipping branches. That enclosure costs some flexibility, since the hand cannot shift along the handle to change leverage, but for clearing work held at one grip all day it is a fair trade.
