The Condor Parang has a 17.5-inch powder-coated 1075 carbon steel blade with a full tang, a walnut handle and a leather sheath. Made in El Salvador.

The parang is a Malaysian clearing pattern, and its distinguishing feature is the forward sweep of the blade with the weight carried toward the tip. That geometry drives the edge into wood on impact instead of glancing off, so a parang out-cuts a straight machete of the same length in dense growth. Walnut is an unusual handle choice at this size, heavier than the molded plastic normally fitted, but it dampens the vibration that travels back up a long blade and warms to the hand instead of staying slick.
