Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool 1-9/16 to 2-9/16-Inch

The Jabsco Impeller Removal Tool (part 50070-0040) is the smaller of the two Jabsco pullers, sized for impellers from about 1-9/16 to 2-9/16 inches across, or 40 to 65 millimeters. Many outboard kicker, generator, and small inboard pumps use impellers in this range. Stainless steel construction keeps it from rusting in a boat toolbox.

Small pumps are often tucked behind belts, hoses, and brackets, so there is little room to get pliers on the hub. This tool grips the impeller and uses a center screw against the shaft to pull it out in a straight line. That avoids the classic screwdriver pry that gouges the pump face and ruins the seal with the cover plate.

It is not brand specific, so it will pull impellers from other makers as long as they fall inside the size range. Check the diameter of your impeller and the clearance in front of the pump before you start. Keep it with a spare impeller, a cover gasket, and a small tube of glycerin-based lube so a roadside or dockside swap is quick.
