Jabsco 3-3/4in 9-Blade Nitrile Impeller Kit

The Jabsco 836-0003-P Impeller Kit is a large 9-blade nitrile impeller, 3-3/4 inches in diameter and 1 inch wide. It uses a single flat drive on a brass insert. This is the nitrile version of the 836 impeller, which suits pumps that may see oil, fuel, or industrial fluids.

Large impellers with fewer blades flex more per turn, so they move a high volume of water and handle small solids well. Nitrile resists swelling in oil, which keeps the blades from softening and losing their seal against the pump body. For plain raw-water cooling, the neoprene 836-0001-P is the more common choice.

Big impellers are tight in the housing, so a removal tool sized for 2-9/16 to 4-5/8-inch impellers makes the job much easier. Grease the blades before installing and replace the cover gasket at the same time. Check the cam inside the housing for wear, since a worn cam lowers output even with a new impeller.
