Jabsco 1-1/4in 8-Blade Nitrile Impeller Kit

The Jabsco 14750-0003-P Impeller Kit is one of the smallest in the Jabsco range, an 8-blade nitrile impeller just 1-1/4 inches in diameter and 15/32 inch wide. It drives on a single flat, meaning the shaft has one flat side that the brass hub insert locks onto. Small impellers like this are found in compact utility, transfer, and accessory pumps rather than big engine cooling pumps.

Nitrile is the compound Jabsco uses when a pump may see oil, diesel, or other petroleum products, because it swells and softens far less than neoprene in those fluids. That makes this kit a good fit for oily bilge water or light fuel and oil transfer. With only 8 blades, each vane flexes more easily, which helps the pump pass small particles without tearing a blade.

Pop the cover, pull the old impeller with a small puller or pliers on the hub, and wipe out the housing before fitting the new one. A light coat of glycerin or Jabsco impeller grease on the blades helps it slide in and protects it during the first dry seconds of prime. Fit the kit's new gasket so the cover seals properly.
