Jabsco 12-Blade Nitrile Impeller Kit 2-1/4-Inch

The Jabsco 5929-0003-P Impeller Kit is a 12-blade nitrile impeller, 2-1/4 inches in diameter, with a keyed drive. The -0003 suffix marks Jabsco's nitrile compound, which stands up to oil and fuel better than neoprene. That makes it a good fit for bilge, transfer, and utility pumps that may handle oily water. This diameter is common on smaller pumps, so the keyed hub and nitrile compound are what make this kit specific.

A keyway hub uses a small square key that sits in matching slots in the shaft and hub. Keep the old key if it is in good shape, but replace it if the edges are rounded or the impeller was slipping. Twelve blades give steady, pulse-free flow. Since nitrile can feel firmer in cold weather, give the pump a few seconds to settle before expecting full flow.

Nitrile is a bit stiffer than neoprene, so the impeller may feel tight going in. Glycerin or impeller grease on the blades and housing makes it easier and protects the rubber at startup. Check the pump's wear plate for grooves while it is open. Remove any oily residue from the housing first so the new blades seat cleanly against the cam. A spare in the boat's parts bin saves a lot of trouble if a blade breaks far from the dock. Find the matching removal tool in our pump parts and accessories.
