Jabsco 12-Blade Neoprene Impeller Kit 2-1/4-Inch

The Jabsco 13554-0001-P Impeller Kit is a 12-blade neoprene impeller with a 2-1/4-inch diameter. The -0001 suffix marks it as Jabsco's neoprene compound, the standard for seawater cooling and general water transfer. It is listed with a spline drive hub. The brass insert is bonded into the rubber hub, giving the splines a hard surface that will not wear like rubber would.

A 2-1/4-inch impeller is a common size on smaller inboard and sterndrive engines and on many generator and utility pumps. Twelve blades give a steady flow and good pressure, which suits engine cooling. Neoprene stays flexible in cold water and handles silt better than harder compounds. Because these pumps are often hidden behind belts and brackets, a small impeller puller can save a lot of skinned knuckles.

Several Jabsco impellers share this diameter, so match the part number on your old impeller or pump tag. Width and hub type both need to match, or the pump will lose suction or not close properly. Grease the blades before fitting, and run water through the pump right away after installation. If the engine runs hotter after the change, check that the impeller blades are not folded backward against rotation.
