Jabsco 2-1/4in 10-Blade Neoprene Impeller Kit

The Jabsco 18777-0001-P Impeller Kit is a 10-blade neoprene impeller, 2-1/4 inches in diameter and listed at 2 inches wide. It uses a spline drive, where grooves inside the brass hub mesh with matching grooves on the pump shaft. Splines spread the turning load around the whole hub, which makes this style durable in pumps that start and stop under load.

The -0001 suffix marks Jabsco's neoprene version, the standard compound for raw-water engine cooling and general seawater pumping. Neoprene stays flexible over a wide temperature range and resists wear from sand and silt, which is why it is the default for cooling pumps. It is not the right choice for pumping oil or fuel, where a nitrile impeller lasts longer.

Jabsco suggests replacing the impeller at least once a year, and many owners do it at spring commissioning so the boat starts the season fresh. Keep the old one as an emergency spare only if every blade is intact and still flexible. Store spares in a sealed bag out of sunlight, since rubber hardens with UV and heat.
