Jabsco 2-Inch 10-Blade Neoprene Impeller Kit

The Jabsco 18673-0001-P Impeller Kit has 10 neoprene blades on a brass insert, measuring 2 inches in diameter and 7/8 inch wide. It uses a pin drive, where a cross pin through the shaft engages slots in the hub. Pin drive is common on older pump designs and some smaller engine pumps.

The pin is a wear item, so inspect it whenever the impeller comes out and replace it if it is bent or grooved. A sheared or missing pin will let the shaft turn while the impeller stays still, which looks like a failed impeller even when the blades are fine. Neoprene is the right compound here for general raw-water and fresh water use.

Install the new impeller with the blades bent opposite to the direction of rotation, so they trail as the shaft turns. Grease the blades and the inside of the housing lightly before installing it.
