The Dolphin 24/24V 30A DC-DC Battery Converter charges a 24V auxiliary bank from a 24V source, with conformal-coated circuitry.

Conformal coating on the circuit board is worth noting because most DC-DC chargers do not mention it. It seals the board against salt-laden air, which is what corrodes electronics slowly in an engine space. An uncoated board in that environment fails after a few seasons rather than immediately.

Twenty-four volts in and out regulates a varying supply into a proper charging profile, which a direct connection cannot do. That keeps bow thruster, trolling motor and house batteries replenished from the engine's charging system rather than left to whatever voltage happens to reach them.
