C. Sherman Johnson Adjustable Eye-to-Eye Fitting

The C. Sherman Johnson Adjustable Eye-to-Eye Fitting provides an eye on both sides of a stanchion where the lifeline layout requires a connection point on each side. It is useful for creating a clean transition through a stanchion without stacking unrelated fittings or improvising a double-sided attachment. The adjustable design lets the installer fine-tune the spacing so the two eyes align with the lifeline runs on either side. This makes the fitting practical for both new installations and replacement work where stanchion dimensions vary slightly.

The adjustment range runs from 3/4 in to 1 in. That movement can compensate for differences in stanchion wall thickness, hardware spacing, or the position of the mating lifeline terminals. Both eyes should remain aligned with the direction of pull so the fitting is not twisted after final tensioning. The threads and eye surfaces should also remain accessible for inspection once the lifeline is assembled.
