Sweet deal on a great knife Excellent experience overall.
Fast shipping from Georgia
The BPS Knives Bushcraft has a 5-inch satin 1066 carbon steel blade with a Scandi grind at 10 inches overall, a finger grooved walnut handle over a full extended tang, a lanyard hole and a brown leather belt sheath.
A Scandi grind has a single wide bevel running from the blade's flat straight down to the edge, with no secondary bevel behind it. That flat rides against wood and takes a controlled shaving, and the grind dominates Nordic woodcraft knives for that reason. It also sharpens simply, since laying the bevel flat on a stone puts the edge at exactly the right angle without judgment.
1066 carbon steel takes a very keen edge and strops back quickly, developing a patina that slows further rust once established. The extended tang runs to the butt so the pommel can take a strike, and finger grooves locate the hand the same way each time. Explore more Survival and Bushcraft.
