Description
The Ontario Bushcraft Utility has a 4-inch satin stainless clip point blade with a full tang at 9.25 inches overall, a brown wood handle, a lanyard hole and a black nylon belt sheath.
Stainless on a bushcraft knife is a deliberate departure. The category runs carbon steel because it takes a keener edge and strikes sparks off a ferro rod, and stainless gives up both in exchange for needing no drying. For anyone working near water or unwilling to maintain a carbon blade, that is the trade worth making.
The clip point drops the tip below the spine line for control on detail work, with a long belly behind it for general cutting. Full tang construction runs the steel the whole length of the handle, so there is no joint to loosen under batoning. Explore more Survival and Bushcraft.
