Description
The Real Steel Bushcraft III has a convex grind, curving gently to the edge instead of meeting it at a flat bevel. Its 4-inch satin D2 blade runs full tang through a coyote tan G10 handle with red liners to 8.5 inches overall, with a black leather belt sheath.
Convex geometry puts more steel behind the edge than a flat grind, so the blade splits wood and takes batoning without the edge rolling. The trade is that it is maintained with a strop rather than a stone. D2 holds a working edge far longer than budget stainless, though being semi-stainless it needs to be dried after it gets wet.
Red liners between the tan scales are a small visual detail rather than a functional one, showing as a thin stripe along the handle. Full tang construction runs the steel the whole length, so nothing can loosen at the joint under batoning. Explore more Survival and Bushcraft.
