Blue Sea A-Series ELCI 30A Flat Rocker Breaker

The Blue Sea Systems A-Series ELCI main is a double-pole 30A breaker with a flat rocker actuator, tripping at 30 mA leakage, meeting UL 1500 ignition protection.

The flat rocker sits close to the panel face, which makes accidental switching considerably harder than a toggle allows. Where the AC panel is in a passageway or near a companionway step, that matters. A main breaker knocked open takes the charger and everything else with it, and nobody notices until the batteries are down.

The toggle version of the same breaker is the alternative, easier to find and throw quickly but easier to catch with a sleeve. Which is correct depends entirely on where the panel sits rather than on preference.

It trips on short circuit, overload or leakage to ground at 30 mA, giving ABYC E-11 protection with 5,000A interrupt capacity. The magnetic hydraulic mechanism is trip free, so it cannot be held closed on a fault. UL 1500 external ignition protection is required on gasoline powered boats. Rated -35°C to 65°C.
