Description

The Blue Sea Systems 1502 is a single-position panel holding one 30A double-pole ELCI main, measuring 4.75 by 4.88 by 3.00 inches at 1.10 pounds.

This does one job. Where a boat already has a branch panel it is happy with and only needs leakage protection added at the inlet, this adds it without touching anything downstream. Retrofitting ELCI protection to an older boat usually means exactly that situation, and replacing a working branch panel to get it would be wasteful.

The breaker is the 3102100 A-Series double-pole 120V 30A unit, a residual current device tripping at 30 mA. That covers whole-boat overcurrent and leakage protection to ABYC E-11 from a box under five inches square.

A red reverse polarity LED is fitted, circuit label positions are backlit and ON indicating LEDs are installed. It should go within 10 feet of the shore power inlet, which is where ABYC E-11 requires the ELCI to sit. Explore more marine electrical panels.

  • ELCI protection only, with no branch circuits
  • Adds leakage protection without replacing a branch panel
  • The usual retrofit case on an older boat
  • 30 mA trip in a box under five inches square
