Blue Sea 7462 UL-489 15A Flat Rocker Breaker

The Blue Sea Systems 7462 is a UL-489 listed double pole 15A flat rocker breaker rated to 240V AC, with 5,000A interrupt capacity.

UL-489 is the listing that matters here, and it is a different standard from the UL-1077 used across most of the range. Navy, Army and Coast Guard vessels and others falling under CFR 46 require UL-489, so this is the part to specify when a survey or contract calls for it. A UL-1077 breaker will not satisfy that requirement however similar it looks.

The flat rocker actuator sits close to the panel face and resists accidental switching, which suits a panel in a working passageway. The magnetic hydraulic mechanism is trip free with a rated switching life of 10,000 cycles, operating from -40°C to 85°C.

Installation figures are specified precisely: terminal studs torque to 35 inch-pounds or 3.95 Nm, and the #6-32 stainless mounting screws to 8 inch-pounds or 0.9 Nm.
