Blue Sea 7312 COTS Military Grade 15A Breaker

The Blue Sea Systems 7312 is a COTS military grade A-Series double pole breaker rated 15 amps, with a metal toggle actuator and UL 1077 listing.

A metal toggle rather than the plastic used across the standard range is the visible difference, and the reason is the specification behind it. This is a commercial off-the-shelf part that may suit installations where military specifications are required under CFR 46, which is a documentation question as much as a hardware one.

The electrical ratings are unusual for its size: 277V AC or 65V DC maximum, with interrupt capacity of 1,500A on AC and 7,500A on DC. That DC interrupt figure is far above what a 15 amp breaker would normally handle, which is the point of a military-grade part.

Installation detail is specified more tightly than usual, with a 1/2-32 mounting boss and stainless hex nut torqued to 30 inch-pounds and #10-32 terminal screws at 14 inch-pounds.
